Everyone loves Thomas the Tank Engine. The smiling, cheerful blue little steam engine puffs around the island of Sodor, meeting such whimsical trains as Edward, Percy, Annabelle, Gordon, and of course The Fat Controller, most widely known as Sir Topham Hatt.
The kids in my preschool class always bicker over who has which train, Thomas being the most widely contested. The 20 month-old son of my former babysitter can be instantly pacified by a Thomas video. "Meme," he calls the train.
His mother had given me a painted rocker when I was 2 or 3, and so I decided to re-paint the chair and return it to her son. An online "how to draw Thomas the Tank Engine" proved helpful (I did a test painting first)...the results are below.
